Vettel + Webber = Wreck
Turkish Grand Prix. It had to happen, sooner or later. The under-dingo
going for his third win in a row from his third consecutive pole position.
Definitely not the script the wunderkind from Heppenheim expected.
A Red Bull stampede for an easy but close one-two delivered the desired result in McLaren’s favor as Sebastian Vettel spoils Mark Webber’s Turkish delight.
Racing side by side going into turn 12 with less than 20 laps to go Vettel appeared to move right and slight touch with sister car of Mark Webber sent the German spinning out of race. He nearly collected Webber again as the Australian was trying to get back on the track.
Did somebody say Fuji 2007?
Webber’s early pace and domination allowed him to stop for a nose job and new tires and still climb the podium in third place. Thanks to Vettel his lead in the championship has now increased over second place driver.
Silver Streak
Front row starter Lewis Hamilton had the front row seat for the carnage ahead of him. Looking for his first win of the season his mirrors were soon filled with teammate Button’s McLaren. The world champion and defending race winner briefly took the lead but decided not to play in the Vettel wonderland after both drivers were instructed to conserve fuel.

Amid scenes of Prancing Pussy-Cat Doll for television viewers across the globe, Hamilton took his first victory of the season and third place in the championship with 84 points. He dedicated the win to his ex-Manager, Anthony Hamilton, who pride fully remains his papito and turns 50 on Monday.
Button is second in the championship with 88 points, five behind Webber, with two wins from seven races of the season so far.
Dr. Helmut Marko, former F1 driver and Le Mans winner, and now in charge of Red Bull’s racing programme, put the blame on his Australian driver.
Christian Horner, their team manager, did not point fingers but said, “They should never have been where they were”.
Michael Schumacher was fourth after some early and exciting battle with Button. “Schuey”, Prince of the Past, is now as fast as young teammate and fellow German Nico Rosberg who trailed him in fifth for Mercedes GP.
Pole star Robert Kubica was sixth in his yellow French machine, Renault, with Massa and Alonso scoring points in seventh and eighth respectively, for Scuderia Ferrari in the 800th Grand Prix start.
Adrian Sutil finished ninth for Silverstone-based Force India.
Final point and first for the season for Sauber was scored by Kamui Kobayashi.
McLaren leads the constructors’ championship by a single point over Red Bull, 172 to 171. Ferrari is third with 146 points.
Oh Canada
The F1 circus now crosses the pond to race on a man made island at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on June 13th. Montreal was the scene of maiden wins for Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica.
