Felipe Nasr

Going Up! Felipe Nasr is on fire. The 18-year old from Brasilia leads the 2011 British Formula 3 Championship after two rounds. Managed by Steve Robertson of Raikkonen fame, Nasr started his 2011 campaign in quite a style; winning two of the three races – and podium in the third – at the season opener at Autodromo Nazionale di Monza.

At Oulton Park last weekend he extended his championship lead by winning the final race of the weekend plus second place in the opening race. Nasr drives for Carlin Motorsports and is regarded as the next Brazilian sensation.

In his rookie British F3 season last year he finished fifth overall and took maiden win at Rockingham.

Nasr made his single seater debut in the final race of the 2008 Formula BMW Americas series at Interlagos and scored a podium finish. Crossing the pond he won the talent-laden 2009 Formula BMW Europe Championship, scoring five wins and visiting the podium in 14 of the 16 races. His points tally was over a hundred more than second place driver in the championship, Daniel Juncadella.

His karting career, which began at the age of seven, is equally impressive with numerous championship victories both in native Brazil and Argentina.
