Ferdinand Habsburg will return to Carlin Racing this season to contest the FIA European F3 Championship and says he is better prepared than ever to make a title-winning assault with the world-class team. 

The 20-year old from Vienna made his F3 full season debut in 2017 and, following a stunning race victory at Spa-Francorchamps and multiple podium finishes, he helped Carlin to second place in the overall teams’ title.

After a season of working with Carlin, Habsburg knew that the British-based team was the ideal place to be, as he entered what will be is most important race season yet.

“I am pumped to announce that I am rejoining Trevor and his incredible team this year. I can’t wait to get back to racing with the Carlin boys that I have become very close with over the last 14 months. Feeling comfortable within a team is going to be a big strength that we will take advantage of – we’re going to hit this year’s championship hard from round one!”

The first round of the FIA European F3 Championship is at Pau in France on 12-13 May and continues to some of the world’s most iconic tracks including Silverstone, Nürburgring and Red Bull Ring before the season closes at Hockenheim on 13-14 October.

“I now know all of the tracks in the calendar and that will help massively,” explained Habsburg, who continues his partnership with AVL Racing, Jansen Competition, BRP-Rotax, GS ArtAppeal, IMSB, OMP and Bell for the coming season. “Carlin has an incredible history of developing the world’s top drivers and I’m going to work hard to make sure I do them proud. Thanks to everyone who has helped make it possible.”
