TO DOMINATE OR NOT TO DOMINATE ? LCH ANSWERED THE QUESTION IN ESPANA!
LCH takes his 88th victory and his 156th podium finish to become the number one driver in F1 history passing Schumacher for most podium finishes.
LCH was in a league of his own, and so were the top three. Hamilton, Verstappen and Bottas were the only drivers who weren’t lapped during the largely two-stop race, although there was fascinating battling through the midfield.
LCH: “I was just in a daze out there. I felt really good,” Hamilton said. “I didn’t even know it was the last lap I was so zoned in.”
MAX, who was animated on team radio, can take solace from the fact he beat one of the Mercedes given their pace advantage, with Bottas made to rue a poor start to the race which saw him drop down to fourth after Turn One.
LCH beat Verstappen by 24 seconds to extend his championship lead over him to 37 points – 132 to 95 – after six races.
Sergio Perez was totally pissed at his blue flag penalty!
“I don’t understand where I should have moved, Hamilton got to me very late in the lap and then in the final sector it is very tight, very narrow, so I don’t have anywhere [to go],” Perez told Sky Sports F1.
“It would have been very unsafe for me to do something there but still I got the penalty. I feel it was very unfair but it is how it is.
“I am happy that at least we didn’t lose out with the points because Lance got them but I think the penalty was harsh.
