Adrian Fernandez

One of the most popular athletes to hail from Mexico, Adrian Fernandez has been successfully competing – and winning – in motorsports for over 30 years and is the only professional athlete from Mexico to have a career that spans over 20 consecutive years outside of his homeland at the top levels. Fernandez began his career in motocross at age 8, but quickly found his passion on four wheels. Success in his early years, both in Mexico and in Europe, led Fernandez to the U.S. where he quickly began cementing his future at the top echelons of the sport.

Fernandez has won in a wide variety of categories including the IZOD IndyCar Series, American Le Mans Series (ALMS), Grand-Am and the former Champ Car (CART) Series. He was also a successful driver/team owner with Fernandez Racing, which captured the driver and team ALMS LMP2 championships in 2009. A recipient of an abundance of awards over the years including the Pedro Rodriguez Trophy as the top Mexican Driver and “Athlete of the Year” in Mexico, Fernandez was inducted into the Mexican Auto Racing Federation Hall of Fame in 2010.

“Celebratory drink for Oscar. Couldn’t go the full Danny Ric due to inappropriate footwear #shooie 👢🍺” – JB.

Greetings from Nam. F1Weekly familia member and one of the originals, Jason Bentley, is a traveling man. His area of expertise is South East Asia and Iran.

On home front in land down under he sure knows his way around Bathurst, Longford in Tasmania and Albert Park.

The photo shows him in Saigon celebrating Aussie victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix, where Oscar Piastri took his maiden win from the ‘ashes’ of his teammate’s frustrations.

Renato

“Renato had started as an engine man at Autodelta but, when Ducarouge arrived [in 1981], he became a chassis expert, too,” says Giacomelli. “So he knew everything about this car. That was very lucky because there are no drawings, nothing; everything from Autodelta is lost.

Bruno Senna

He joined Williams in 2012 and finished the Malaysian GP in a fine sixth position. Eliminated from the Spanish GP by an errant Michael Schumacher as team-mate Pastor Maldonado scored a shock win, Senna ended the season inadvertently pivotal to the title fight. Sebastian Vettel crashed into him on the opening lap in Brazil but recovered to clinch a third championship. A disappointing 16th in the standings, Senna was not retained for 2013.
