Charles…

“It feels incredible,” said Leclerc. “Unfortunately the end was maybe not the one I will have dreamt of but to win after the last few weekends that have been particularly difficult, all the work that we put into trying to get the feeling back in the car. I felt like I had found something yesterday between the Sprint and Qualifying, but I had to confirm that today. And today, the feeling was back where it needs to be. I’m so incredibly happy.”

George Russell

It’s always special to stand on the podium at Silverstone, and after a few years where luck hasn’t really been on my side at my home race, it’s nice to finally get a result to celebrate in front of these fans. It is always one of the most special races on the calendar for me. The support here is incredible, the fans are so passionate, and racing in front of a home crowd is something I’ll never take for granted. I’m grateful for all their support and delighted we could at least give them a podium to celebrate.

It was a race with a whole range of emotions today. At times we were unlucky, and in the end, we got a little bit lucky as well. The Safety Car played in our favour because everyone behind me had fitted fresh tyres. Had we gone racing again, I probably would have lost at least one position, so I’m glad it finished under the Safety Car and allowed us to bring home P2.

It wasn’t a particularly strong weekend from our side. I’ve been trying to understand for a while why I’m struggling, and although today felt slightly better, there are still a lot of things we can improve. I could feel the slow puncture developing during the race and lost around five or six PSI over a lap and a half, which made the car feel increasingly unbalanced. Putting that aside though, there’s still work for us to do to understand where we’re missing performance. We will analyse all the data before we head to Spa so we can come back stronger.

Kimi Antonelli

Today was one of those days where everything seemed to go against us. We had really strong pace in the race and it felt like we had the speed to close the gap and fight for the win. That’s what makes the end of our race so frustrating. We didn’t get the opportunity to properly battle for the victory but sometimes these things are out of your control.

The damage happened very suddenly. I was taking the same kerb every lap, but on that particular lap I ran it and immediately lost front downforce. The car wasn’t driving straight anymore and the pace dropped away. I knew part of the wheel shield had broken, but there seemed to be more going on than we could see at that moment. We will analyse everything and understand exactly what happened.

Despite all the setbacks, I kept pushing and trying to maximise every opportunity. That’s always my mindset. Even when it felt like everything was going against us, I was still fighting to grab that one point before the Safety Car changed things. I know I gave everything I had and we will come back stronger. The support from the fans has been amazing this weekend and I’m already excited to bounce back in Spa.

Fernando Alonso

“The car switched off during the formation lap and I managed to restart it, but we need to investigate and find out what happened. In the race we stopped twice and tried to learn as much as possible to help with the development of this car. We are all working well together and hopefully we see some improvements in the second half of the year.”

Mike Krack

“We finished our home race at Silverstone with both cars, but it was a difficult afternoon with our performance level limiting our opportunities to progress. Both drivers used the same strategy: starting on the Medium tyres, then changing to Hards, before moving to the Softs under the Safety Car. Fernando had a car systems issue on the way to the grid, forcing him to start from pit lane, so we need to investigate the cause further. It was great to see so much support from the British fans this weekend – we will keep pushing and there is more performance coming soon.”

O’Ward Outduels Lundgaard
as Arrow McLaren Scores First 1-2 Finish
.

LEXINGTON, Ohio (Sunday, July 5, 2026) – Same papaya, different day. Different driver, too.

That was Arrow McLaren’s swap at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course where Pato O’Ward – and not polesitter Christian Lundgaard – won The Honda Indy 200 Presented by the 2027 CR-V Hybrid, the 11th race of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.

SEE: Race Results

Lundgaard and O’Ward had started the 90-lap race together on the front row, and they effectively held their positions throughout a caution-free race except when they pitted. But on Lap 42, O’Ward capitalized on the polesitter’s wide exit off Turn 2, swiping the lead and holding it the rest of the way.

The win was the first for O’Ward in nearly a year since he won last season’s Toronto street race. That was 15 races ago, a drought he couldn’t accept, especially as Lundgaard has won two races this year, including the most recent race at Road America.

The win also gave Arrow McLaren its first 1-2 finish in this series.

O’Ward hadn’t even scored a top-three finish this season despite being fifth in the standings. His best runs had been three fourth-place finishes and three fifth-place finishes.

“It’s been a year, it’s been a tough one for sure,” the Mexican driver said. “I think today is just a perfect example of execution. I waited for the perfect time pounce and from there we just controlled it.”

O’Ward’s pass of Lundgaard was noteworthy for a couple reasons, not the least of which stemming from what happens at year’s end. They are in their second season as teammates, but all signs point to Lundgaard driving elsewhere next year as Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist join O’Ward on the team.

That situation made O’Ward’s pouncing opportunity all the more interesting.

Lundgaard drifted a bit wide on the exit of Turn 2, allowing O’Ward to size him up and get a better run down the long straightaway that serves as the race’s starting point. By the time they arrived at the tricky, right-turning fourth corner, the cars were side by side, O’Ward on the outside. They touched at least twice at corner exit, and O’Ward had the preferred line into Turn 5 – and he used it.

By the time the Arrow McLaren twosome charged into Thunder Valley, O’Ward had the lead. Later, he used a key pass of series rookie Dennis Hauger to create additional separation leading into the final pit stop. O’Ward stayed out as Lundgaard, along with two other challengers pitted, and he then ran two laps longer to pad his lead.

O’Ward’s winning margin was .9877 of a second, earning his second Mid-Ohio victory in the past three years. This win was the 10th of his career, almost divided equally by circuit (four on ovals, three on street circuits, three on road courses).

Lundgaard’s second-place finish continued his strong season on road courses. In addition to winning races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road America, he also finished second at Barber Motorsports Park. With Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou finishing fifth, Lundgaard drew within 65 points of the series leader.

Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood finished third, getting a few points closer to Palou. Their separation is now 56 points, and Kirkwood overtook Team Penske’s David Malukas, who finished eighth, for second place in the standings. Lundgaard also jumped Malukas with O’Ward fifth. The top four drivers are separated by 66 points with seven races remaining, led by the July 19 Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix presented by OnlyBulls at Nashville Superspeedway.

VeeKay scored his second fourth-place finish in the past three races following another such finish last month at World Wide Technology Raceway.

Fittipaldi Again Sweeps Mid-Ohio, Takes
Series Points Lead
.

LEXINGTON, Ohio (Sunday, July 5, 2026) – Enzo Fittipaldi completed a flawless weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, leading every lap for the second straight race to sweep the INDY NXT by Firestone doubleheader.

Fittipaldi crossed the finish line 12.7469 seconds ahead of HMD Motorsports teammate Jack Beeton to earn his fourth career series victory and second in as many days. Fittipaldi’s victory margin was the second largest in INDY NXT history at Mid-Ohio, trailing only Jack Harvey’s 17.3403-second victory in Race 1 of the 2014 doubleheader.

Driving the No. 67 HMD Motorsports entry, Fittipaldi was untouchable all weekend. The grandson of two-time Formula One World Champion, two-time Indianapolis 500 winner and 1989 INDYCAR SERIES champion Emerson Fittipaldi topped Friday’s practice, earned both poles, including a track-record lap Saturday, led all 65 laps across the two races and also posted the fastest lap in each event.

“I’m just so happy,” Fittipaldi said. “What a weekend, absolute domination from all of HMD. It’s crazy. First practice, double pole and double victories, so it can’t get any better than this.”

SEE: Race 2 Results

Beeton finished a career-best second in the No. 45 HMD Motorsports entry, improving on Saturday’s third-place finish. Nikita Johnson finished third in the No. 21 Cape Motorsports Powered by ECR entry, preventing HMD Motorsports from sweeping the podium for a second consecutive day.

After HMD Motorsports claimed the top four finishing positions Saturday, Johnson charged from fifth on the grid to third after finishing seventh in Race 1.

JM Correa climbed from ninth to finish fourth in the No. 68 Cusick Morgan Motorsports entry, while Tymek Kucharczyk completed the top five in the No. 71 HMD Motorsports car in the caution-free race. Correa now has three top-seven finishes in the last four races, with the lone exception coming after contact with the Turn 12 tire barrier on Lap 21 of Saturday’s race.

Beeton moved into second on Lap 2 after Alessandro de Tullio attempted to pass Fittipaldi around the outside of Turn 4. De Tullio ran off course at corner exit, rejoined in eighth and recovered to sixth before slipping back to eighth at the finish.

Fittipaldi became the sixth driver to sweep an INDY NXT weekend at Mid-Ohio, joining Jack Harvey (2014), Santiago Urrutia (2016), Pato O’Ward (2018), Oliver Askew (2019) and Kyle Kirkwood (2021).

The dominant performance also vaulted Fittipaldi from third in the championship standings, 27 points behind entering the weekend, to a 17-point lead over Kucharczyk. Johnson sits third, 20 points behind.

“Just all race managing the tires,” Fittipaldi said. “I’m always good at long-distance races and managing tires. It’s kind of my specialty. I use my tools to my advantage, so a lot of work with the brake bias and the bars every lap, every corner, just keeping the car where I wanted it to be.

“Obviously the car was very fast today. I think it was a combination of many things, and our pace was rapid. I did a 1:09.9 (lap), which was only about five-tenths off my qualifying lap yesterday. I don’t know how many miles were on the tires, so I was quite happy with that.”

The series returns Sunday, July 19 at Nashville Superspeedway. Coverage begins at 1 p.m. ET on FS1, FOX One and INDYCAR Radio powered by OnlyBulls.

Exceptional Tsolov dominates to complete iconic Silverstone double.

Nikola Tsolov became the first driver in FIA Formula 2 history to win three consecutive races as he completed a historic Silverstone double with a special victory in the Feature Race. The Campos Racing driver took the lead late on to win by 3.2s from Rafael Villagómez, who made the alternative strategy work to finish second for Van Amersfoort Racing with ART Grand Prix driver Kush Maini in third.

AS IT HAPPENED
It was a slow getaway for polesitter Rafael Câmara and fellow front row starter Alexander Dunne as Maini rocketed to P1 from third of the line. It was once again a great start for Tsolov, who went from fifth to second, as Câmara and Dunne battled for P3.

The Invicta Racing driver won the contest, but having had four wheels of the track at Turn 4, his team instructed him to give his Rodin Motorsport rival back the position. Maini on the other hand was flying and was 2.1s clear of Tsolov at the start of Lap 4.

Câmara came on the radio to tell Invicta that he wanted to stop as early as possible on his softs, and it was clear to see with the Hard tyre runners now looking quicker. Villagómez and Joshua Duerksen were flying through, up to fourth and sixth by Lap 6, with Maini, Tsolov, Dunne, Câmara, Ritomo Miyata, Bilinski, Nico Varrone, Sebastián Montoya and Emerson Fittipaldi all coming in to fit a set of the harder compound.

Tsolov had closed in on Maini at the end of the soft tyre stint, and he was back putting the ART driver under pressure for the net race lead. On Lap 10 however the Bulgarian dropped back out of DRS range. Further behind him, Bilinski overtook Inthraphuvasak for P13 on the road – but a net fifth place.

At the front of the field, Villagómez was flying away from Duerksen, who was beginning to see championship leader Gabriele Minì in his mirrors, just 1.5s behind on Lap 14. Lap 17 saw the end of Montoya’s race, as he pulled over to the side of the road before returning to the pitlane, reporting rear suspension damage.

A couple of laps later Tsolov had closed back in on Maini, and they started battling for position. The Campos driver tried to go around the outside at Stowe corner and at the inside at Vale, but Maini defended well to keep position.

They battle through the opening two sectors of Lap 20, and Tsolov finally made his way through thanks to a brave move at Maggots and Becketts. The yet to pit drivers were starting to come in with Minì in on Lap 23, Duerksen stopping on Lap 24 and race leader Villagómez changing to the softs on Lap 25.

The Mexican driver came back out behind Câmara, but had four laps to overtake those ahead, with his eyes set on the podium. After getting his tyres up to temperature, Villagómez overtook the Brazilian at Stowe, before making way past Dunne on Lap 27 down the Wellington straight, putting him on the podium.

On the penultimate lap, the VAR driver dived to the inside of Maini at Village to take second place. But Tsolov was too far ahead as he would go on to claim his sixth victory of the season. Villagómez was second ahead of Maini. Dunne finished fourth ahead of Câmara, Minì and Noel León. Bilinski ended up in P8, with Duerksen ninth ahead of Inthraphuvasak.

De Palo claims hard fought maiden F3 victory at Silverstone.

Matteo De Palo achieved his first victory in FIA Formula 3 with a resilient performance at the Silverstone Feature Race. After making his way to the front after starting fifth, the TRIDENT driver was forced to defend his position on the last lap before going on to win. Ernesto Rivera finished second for Campos Racing ahead of ART Grand Prix driver Maciej Gladysz – both drivers gaining a position at the line following Théophile Nael’s 10-second time penalty.

AS IT HAPPENED
It was a great start from Nael, but polesitter Freddie Slater did incredibly well to stay ahead, braving it around the outside at Turn 1 to keep position. De Palo was up to fourth after starting in P5 and made a nice move on Louis Sharp at the Vale chicane to take P3, with his eyes now set on Slater and Nael.

The Italian then made a nice move on Nael at Stowe, making it a TRIDENT 1-2 on Lap 3. In the championship battle, Ugo Ugochukwu was making progress, getting past Yevan David at the Hangar straight to move up to ninth.

De Palo’s impressive start continued on Lap 4, as he dived to the inside of Slater, once again at Stowe, to take the lead of the race. On Lap 7, Gladysz was battling well also and made a nice move around the outside at Vale on Ernesto Rivera.

Nael then tried to dive to the inside of Slater at the Loop on the next lap. The TRIDENT home favourite defended the position before taking the lead back from De Palo a few corners later at the popular Stowe. Rivera then returned the favour on Gladysz, pulling off the same move at Vale to retake P6. The Campos driver then got past Fionn McLaughlin for P5 down the Hangar straight.

The Hitech driver and Gladysz then went wheel-to-wheel at Vale but ran wide, allowing Noah Stromsted, James Wharton and Ugochukwu to get past, relegating McLaughlin to P10. Back at the front, Sharp had been putting some pressure on Nael for third, and on Lap 12, they went wheel-to-wheel at Stowe. But the French driver fought back Vale, putting the PREMA on the back foot at corner exit.

This allowed several drivers to get past, with Rivera, Gladysz, Wharton, Ugochukwu and Stromsted demoting him to P9 in the space of a few corners. Lap 15 and Slater ran wide at Copse as he looked to close back in on his teammate. Behind him, Sharp tried to overtake Stromsted at Stowe, but found the door shut.

Up ahead, Nael had lost DRS to the top two, and was coming under pressure from his teammate Rivera. Slater tried his first move on De Palo on Lap 18 at Stowe, but his teammate held on, before the Safety Car was called.

Ricardo Escotto stopped at the Loop with damage after hitting the rear of Nandhuvad Bhirombahkdi at Village. The Safety Car was brought in on the penultimate lap setting up a grandstand finish with their being just one racing lap.

Slater had a good restart but De Palo defended well from him and Nael. The Italian then locked up into the Loop, putting his two rivals right on his back down the Wellington straight. The two TRIDENT drivers then went side-by-side through Copse and made slight contact which sent with Briton down the order to sixth.

De Palo then had to defend from Nael and Rivera, and locked up again into the final chicane, but he managed to keep it on the road to claim his first victory in FIA Formula 3. Nael crossed the line in P2 but was given a 10-second time penalty at the line for his part in the incident with Sharp, dropping him to P16.

This promoted Rivera to second ahead of Gladysz, Wharton, Slater and Ugochukwu. Sharp was seventh, ahead of Stromsted, with Kanato Le ninth and Alessandro Giusti in P10.

KEY QUOTE – Matteo De Palo, TRIDENT
“A very good weekend here at Silverstone. We knew we had the pace since Free Practice because we have always been at the top, so we are pretty happy for our work done at home to prepare for this race. It’s the result of the work done with my engineer, with my coach, and all the McLaren staff, so we are pretty happy about what we are achieving together. It has not been an easy start to the season, we had a lot of issues, but we were keeping our faith that we were going to do a strong year together and this is the result this weekend, so really happy. Starting from P5 is not a guarantee that you can get this win, so doing it like this is even better.”

CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS
Ugo Ugochukwu continues to lead the Drivers’ Championship on 97 points, while Freddie Slater stays second with 78. Théophile Nael is third with 60 points, ahead of Noah Stromsted on 51 as Bruno del Pino rounds out the top five on 49.

Campos Racing continue to top the Teams’ Standings on 202 points, with TRIDENT second with 161. Van Amersfoort Racing are third on 109, followed by Rodin Motorsport who have 78 points, as ART Grand Prix sit fifth on 69.

UP NEXT
The drivers will get a short break before returning to the track for Round 6 at Spa-Francorchamps from July 17-19.
